What is CDAP?

The Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP), by the Government of Canada, helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) adopt digital technologies to increase their competitiveness.

Through the Boost Your Business Technology grant, successful applicants can access up to $15,000 to retain a Digital advisor and offset the costs of planning their transformation journey, followed by a 0% loan of up to $100,000 to implement it.

What is the CDAP - Boost Your Business Technology?

ISED launched the Canada Digital Adoption Program with two streams. Stream 1: Grow Your Business Online Stream 2: Boost Your Business Technology. Boost Your Business Technology aims to assist Canadian small and medium-sized businesses by providing expert technology advice with a grant to cover costs associated with working with a digital advisor. The grant covers up to 90% of an eligible invoice, with a maximum value of $15,000. After creating and accepting a Digital Adoption plan, businesses can apply for an interest-free loan of up to $100,000 through the BDC to move forward with digital adoption. Additionally, a wage subsidy of up to $7,300 is available to hire a recent graduate or student to help with digital adoption.

Can I apply for the Boost Your Business Technology for multiple businesses?

Yes, they must all meet the eligibility criteria and operate separately from one another. An advisor will help prepare a unique digital adoption plan for each of your businesses.

Can I choose any company that offers digital services to work with on the CDAP?

The Canada Digital Adoption Program has a list of registered digital advisors. Head to the Digital Advisor Marketplace to find approved CDAP advisors, including Buzz Marketing Group.

Can Buzz Marketing Group apply for CDAP funding on my behalf?

Only the business owner can apply for the Boost Your Business Technology grant. However, we can assist with the CDAP eligibility assessment and grant application as part of our customer service without any additional service fees.

When will be Digital Adoption Plan be ready?

You can expect your Digital Adoption Plan within seven business days after your designated agent confirms that they have all the necessary documents to begin creating the plan.

What can I expect from my digital adoption plan?

Your digital adoption plan is a comprehensive roadmap to identifying current challenges and opportunities for digital transformation. This roadmap is tailored to your business needs, with expert recommendations and a cost-benefit analysis of industry-standard tools and platforms. Your digital adoption plan will include: 1.Business and Technology Current State Analysis 2.Digital Adoption Analysis and Technology Recommendations 3.Implementation Roadmap, including timelines, dependencies and costs

If I already have a loan with BDC, can I still qualify for CDAP?

Your current loan with BDC should be fine with your application for CDAP. Although if you currently have an open financing request with the BDC, your application for CDAP may be affected

What are the loan terms and amounts?

Eligible companies may receive an interest-free loan of up to $100,000 for 12 months of capital postponement + 5 years (a total of six years). The amount of annual gross revenue determines the loan amount. Please use the below pointers as a guide: 1.Companies that reported an annual gross revenue between $500,000 and below $5M are eligible for $25,000 to $50,000. 2.Companies that reported an annual gross revenue over $5M are eligible for $25,000 to $100,000.

Can I also apply for the Funded Work Placement program under CDAP?

The Funded Work Placement program provides a wage subsidy of up to $7,300 for hiring a student or recent graduate as part of your digital transformation and adoption initiatives. The funded work placement subsidy falls under the Boost Your Business Technology CDAP track, so you must maintain the same eligibility criteria to access funding. We recommend applying for this subsidy once you are ready to implement your digital adoption strategy since the $15,000 funding already provides expert advisory services.

Does the grant cover your entire fee?

The grant covers 90% (up to $15,000) of costs associated with hiring a digital advisor, and business owners are expected to pay the remaining 10%.

When does the CDAP program end?

CDAP is a 4-year program launched by the Canadian Government and facilitated by the BDC in 2021. Thus, you can apply for the program until March 2025.
